Tyrese 'Smoke' Cooper Straight Up Smokes The Competition

Miami Gardens XPress 8th grader Tyrese Cooper's nickname is "smoke". It's only fitting that every time the sprint standout hits the track he runs blazing fast times and leaves his competition in the dust. At the Northwest Track & Field Classic at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar set new personal bests in the 100 (10.51w) and 200 (21.19w). Ranked as the top middle schooler in the nation, he also clocked a 47.38 in the 400 which was a 32 year old meet record, and anchored MGX's 4x100m relay to a time of 42.86.
