The Holy Trinity girls program is one of the most dominant in the state of Florida over the past decade. New Coach Scott Baker had a tough task of living up to those expectations in 2015. Three weeks in the Tigers are the top team in 1A after a strong showing at the Spikes & Spurs Classic behind West Forsyth out of Georgia. We will see just how good they are this week at the UF Mt. Dew Invitational. (Photo courtesy Coach Baker)
2014 2A Runner-Up Pine Crest is hoping that luck changes in 2015. The Panthers won both the Martin County Under The Lights Invitational and Florida Horse Park Invitational in convincing fashion and are the top team in 2A. With the addition of Gulliver Prep transfer Alyssa Pujals and a team average of 19:25 they will give Bolles a run for their money! (Photo courtesy Pine Crest XC)
With a very competitive 3A boasting teams like Chiles, Ft. Myers, Fort Walton Beach, etc. it's Niceville that finds themselves at the top of the 3A rankings three weeks in. Of all the teams in the top ten their 1:11 1-5 split is the best. Junior Claire Crist leads a powerful 1-3 punch that has the capability of placing in the top twenty at state. The Winter Park girls are the best team in the state regardless of class and currently ranked 20th nationally. This past weekend the Wildcats went up to Georgia and beat their defending 5A and 6A state champions setting a course record for a team in the process.
