Former Florida Gator, NCAA Champion, and current Adidas professional Omar Craddock finished second at the USA Indoor Championships in Portland this past weekend with a mark of 16.96m (55-7¾ ). Craddock is predicted to make the medal stand at the World Indoor Championships also in Portland which start on Thursday and run through the weekend. We caught up with him to find out his preparation over the last two weeks for USA's and Worlds.

"The past two weeks consisted of hop, hop, step, jump short approach jumps. Going from 6 to 8 steps. As well as sprinting 40 to 60m sprints," he told us.

He added that the workouts are to focus on his weaknesses which he believes are his speed and step phase in the triple jump.

"In addition to doing HHSJ I would do speed bounds and step - jumps into the pit. The sprinting is because I want to be faster coming down the runway and properly turnover when coming to the end of my approach. My biggest problem is the step phase so those jump drills I do are in place to help correct my form."

He breaks down specifically what HHSJ helps him with.

Doing HHSJ i get the chance to have that extra hop in the beginning so it gives me another chance to think about what needs to be corrected in the next phase before it happens and I can get better from there. It's all about strengthening my weaknesses without negating from my strengths all at the same time," he explains.
