Tyrese Cooper Lowers National Freshman Class Record

Day 7: Friday, August 5

Tyrese Cooper clocked 45.54 in the 400m prelims today to lower his own national freshman class record in the event at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas. The time was also quick enough to set a new meet record; the prior record was 46.11 by Obea Moore. The rising sophomore at American High School in Fla., who trains with Miami Gardens Xpress (MGX) TC, is on a roll this week. He lowered his national freshman class record in the 200m to 20.62 (+0.4) on Tuesday.
