Varsity Girls Race

Milton's team depth, paid great dividends this Saturday at the Coach Benson Double Dip Invitational as the Eagles took the team crown scoring 56 points, placing 5 gals in the top 17 spots. Leading the way for Milton were lead runner Marie Repasy who took 5th overall in 19:33 and a surprising 7th overall by frosh Faith Bobak at 19:52 (who was a top MS runner) Anna Marian Block of Athens Academy stole the show, with a solid win over top competitors, charging hard the final mile taking the win in 18:35. Kaylee Dupont of South Forsyth moved up the last mile into 2nd, and held off Galarza of West Forsyth posting a 18:45. 

The racing in the lead pack got intense between (L-R) Anna Marin Block, Liz Galarza, Rafaella Gibbons and Kaylee Dupont.

Anna Marian Block's superior 800m strength helped her separate for the win at 18:35.

Kaylee Dupont worked her way up to 2nd overall clocking a 18:45.78

Liz Galarza led early and pushed the entire race for 3rd place at 18:45.84

Rafaella Gibbons' 4th place effort in 19:00 led Winter Park (FL) to a 2nd place team finish.

Marie Repasy from Milton drives hard to the finish taking 5th in 19:33, leading her squad to the Girls team title.

A 2nd place team finish, will make the long trip back to Winter Park a joyous occasion. 

Marist was all smiles after taking 3rd as a team.

Varsity Boys Race

Marist's Boys left no doubt they are easily the top AAAA squad in the state, and deserving of their high All-Class ranking, as they defeated a strong Milton team by 29 points. The key was having 4 runners place in the top 8 spots, including: super soph Leif Andersen 3rd overall at 16:29, David Reteneller 5th (16:34), Quinn Burden 6th (18:37) and William O'Reilly 8th (16:47) Milton was 2nd teamwise, led by Overall Champ Sam Bowers, who continues to win races, clocking a swift 16:13 on 'Double Dip' and team mate Michael Malkowski who captured 4th at 16:30. Jacob Poston from Dawson County turned some heads, as he mixed it up with the 'Big Boys' the entite way racing to 2nd overall in 16:21.

Marist trio took the race out early leading the War Eagles to the team title.

Sam Bowers from Milton added another title to his belt winning in 16:13.

Dawson County's Jacob Poston gave the Metro guys fits taking 2nd place going 16:21.

Leif Andersen from Marist ran well this week taking 3rd overall at 16:29.

Michael Malkowski from Milton placed 4th overall in 16:30
