The field at the 2016 FLRunners.com Invitational was one of the fastest ever assembled and the girls Race of Champions lived up to the billing. Four girls dipped under 18 minutes at Chain of Lakes Park including champion Bailey Hertenstein who won in a personal best time of 17:32.14, over 14 seconds faster than the rest of the field.
Hertenstein who finished first along with third place finisher Amanda Beach were Foot Locker Finalists later that year while fourth place finisher Tsion Yared made it to Nike Nationals.
