Get Excited: ASICS Title Sponsor For FLR 18, Johnny Gregorek Celebrity Guest

The 2017 FLRunners.com Invitational is shaping up to be one of the best ever with an anticipated 400-plus teams and over 4,000 runners from around the state and country -- even as far away as New York. If the competition level wasn't exciting enough, we are pleased to announce a three-year sponsorship with ASICS.

"The ASICS brand is one very familiar to our running community," said Mark Floreani the co-founder and COO of FloSports. "We are excited to have them on board and a vital part in making the FLRunners.com Invitational one of the best meets in the southeast and nationally as well."

ASICS athlete Johnny Gregorek will be on hand at Holloway Park to interact with athletes and fans as well as sign autographs during the two-day meet that runs September 29 and 30. Gregorek was a high school stand-out in Massachusetts before moving on to Columbia University and finishing his final collegiate season at the University of Oregon. In 2015, he broke the sub-four-minute barrier, joining his dad who qualified for the 1980 and 1984 Olympics as one of a handful of father son duos to accomplish that feat.

Gregorek used a thrilling finish to move from 10th to third in the 1,500m at the USA Championships to earn his spot on Team USA. At the recent World Championships in London, he was the highest-placing American in the 1,500, coming in 10th in a time of 3:37.56.
