The 300m showdown was one of the highlights of the meet, as Kratz faced off against fellow Pennsylvania athlete Miles Green from Saint Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia and also Nathaniel Davis from Sweet Home High School in Amherst, New York.

Green came in with a personal best of 34.85 from the New Balance Games last indoor track season, while Davis came in with a 34.71 from the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on December 9.  His Ithaca time was one of the top times in the nation this season.

55m Dash Results

This weekend we saw a shift in the rankings as Kratz took the national lead with his 33.93. Green's time of 34.32 ranks U.S. No. 2 while Davis also improved his time and now sits at U.S. No. 4 with a time of 34.51.

For Kratz, it was his first time ever running a 300m.

"I had no idea if I was going to go 35-34, I heard 33 was really good... probably not [for] my first time I'm going to do it, but maybe later in the season," Kratz said.

"I just had great competition," he said. "I know Miles Green really well, and I wanted to beat him so badly. I was just pushing as hard as I could to get in front of him. I talked to my coach beforehand -- we had a game plan for what I was going to do and how I was going to run and I just followed through with it and it worked. First time ever running the 300 and running a 33.9, I'm happy with that."
