Alumni Report: Leverone Wins Big, UNF Men Break DMR Record

The University of North Florida men and women showed out this weekend at the Carolina Challenge. Many former Florida high school athletes dominated the field with new personal records, school records, and facility records.

HB Plant HS alumnus '16, Rob Leverone, won big in the mens 5000m. The UNF junior clocked a time of 14:44 to set a facility record and just missed his 14:43 indoor 5000m PR. Leverone was the 4A 3200m state runner-up back in 2016 and has had a strong collegiate progression, racing his way to a 14:30 5000m outdoor PR last season at Georgia Tech.

The Ospreys captured another win and school record in the DMR. Led by Leo Queyrou and three Florida alumni: Spencer Shaw (Fleming Island '17), Andrew Stivers (Hagerty HS '16), and Noah Perkins (Seffner Christian '16), the Ospreys set a facility record time of 10:03.67 for the relay. Perkins was the 1A 3200m state champion back in 2016 and earned himself a new 3000m indoor PR with his 8:10.36, second place performance this weekend as well.
