Armwood junior, Jake Turner, had two strong races at the Wharton Wildcat Invitational this past weekend and followed them up with a repeat Gasparilla 8k win.
In the 1600m, Turner battled it out with Wharton standout, Nehemiah Rivers. Rivers took the win in a time of 4:19.64 with Turner following close behind in 4:20.37.
Turner followed up his new PR with a fifth place 800m personal record in 2:03.14.

After a strong showing on Saturday, Turner ended his personal record weekend with a consecutive Gasparilla 8k win on Sunday in a time of 27:06.
Turner told the Tampa Times that this was a tempo effort for him and that he has goals to run a sub 4:10 1600m and sub nine-minute 3200m before graduating in 2020.
