Leon County & Apalachee Regional Park To Host 2019 XC States

On February 20, the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) announced it's agreement with Leon County Division of Tourism to host the 2019 FHSAA Cross Country State Championships at Apalachee Regional Park.

Leon County Division of Tourism (Visit Tallahassee) won the state bid back in 2012 and has held the bid since. The venue has hosted some of the most elite competitions since it's creation in 2009.

According to the FHSAA, the 2018 Cross Country State Championships brought "221 teams, 1,480 participants and more than 5,000 visitors to the facility."

With the new regional advancement to the state finals -- advancing eight teams instead of six to the state finals, we can expect to see this number in participants and visitors increase in the city of Tallahassee.

The ARP course has become one of Florida's premier cross country racing facilities that has hosted both USATF and NCAA championships.
