Rickards Duo Takes 2A R1 300mH, Bryant Sets New US No. 1

Jabari Bryant has his eyes on the prize.

Bryant set a new national leading 300m hurdle time of 36.81 to win the 2A Region 1 final this weekend at Bishop Snyder.

This sub 37 second performance puts Bryant in the top 15 Florida 300m hurdlers in the past decade, and he is not done yet.

The Rickards senior qualified for the FHSAA state finals this coming weekend in both the 110mH and 300mH. Bryant is the reigning runner-up in the 300mH so, we can expect to see another sub 37 second performance and a state title running attempt.

Earlier this season we saw Bryant dominate the Bob Hayes 300mH field with a then PR of 37.07 to win in the finals. The senior followed it up with a 37.47 second place finish at FSU Relays and then a District title win a few weeks later.

Bryant was not alone at the top, fellow Rickards senior, Christopher Robinson, took home the regional runner-up title in the event with a new shiny PR of 38.20.

With two regional hurdle wins under his belt and a fantastic senior season, Bryant picked a great time to have a breakout race. The 2A 300mH race will be one to watch this upcoming weekend.
