The University of Florida Gator men were back in action this weekend on their home turf at the Mountain Dew UF Invitational. After a few years of rebuilding, the Gators displayed their hard work with a win over the University of North Florida.
Their top five were made up of Florida HS alumni as they crossed the finish line as a strong pack. In fact, all of these Flo-grown gators were top athletes in their class, some even multi-time state champions. Nick Deal (Creekside '17) was the first to cross the line for the gators with a strong time of 25:45 for the 8k. Jack Guyton (Plant '15) and Matthew Clark (Creekside '17) finished next and three seconds apart in 25:50 and 25:53. Gainesville native, Blake Lowry is back after a few injured seasons, finishing fourth for the gators in a standout time of 26:07 with sophomore, Tevor Foley (Citrus Park Christian '18) rounding out the top 5 with his 26:09 performance.
