Lake Wales star Anderson Denton announced his commitment to Florida State University on Friday. The senior took to Instagram to announce the news.
The current state leader at the cross country 5k and third place finisher at the Great American Cross Country Festival has had a strong season so far running a season best of 14:57.
He is the first of what will be many strong recruits for the Florida State University men for the 2020 cross country season.
Denton was seventh at last year's state 2A cross country meet, running a 15:56. After a strong junior fall, he came to the track and dominated. Finishing as state runner-up in the 3200m in a time of 9:19, running a PR that season of 9:11 on his future home track at the FSU Relays.
The future Nole is hunting down the Apalachee Regional Park course record in two short weeks. It's going to be a battle for the 3A cross country title, but is one that Denton is prepared for and excited to go after at his future home.
