The 2019 Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) All-Star Classic meet is just days away and Florida's seniors are gearing up to have a strong close to their season on the Holloway Park Course.
Girls FACA All-Star Race
The Girls senior all-star race is going to be a competitive one. Based off season bests and consistency in performance all season we are looking for a team battle between our East and West girls teams. You still can't count out the North and South girls. These two teams know how to pack run in their respective teams, so can they bring that pack energy to FACA this weekend?
Your front runners for the individual title come from the West girls team with Liina Winborn and Emma Solis leading the way with their sub 18:20 performances this season. Billie Castillo will lead the East girls, Madison Niederriter who just led her team to a runner-up state finish will lead the North ladies, and St. Brendans' Keyli Gomez will be the South team front runner.

Boys FACA All-Star Race
Just like the girls race, the boys team battle looks to be between the East and West boys. Led by Zach Cloud, the East boys are looking to bring it home with four athletes who have gone sub 16 minutes this season. The West boys will have something to say about that as they aim to put their pack mentality to the test with Reed Legg leading the way. The west boys have five state champions -- four of them from Steinbrenner's epic state title pack running last weekend. Jack Lesh is your favorite to lead the South boys as they venture up to the Holloway Park course with Justin Tackling leading the North boys.
Individually, Cloud is your favorite heading in with a 15:32 season best. He'll be challenged by Tackling, and Cambridge Christian's Legg. Legg and Cloud have extensive experience on the Holloway Park course, but Tackling is looking to make some moves in this post-season run after dealing with injury earlier this season.
