Alyssa Hendrix Named Florida Gatorade XC Player of the Year


Two-time cross country state champion Alyssa Hendrix was named Florida's Gatorade Cross Country Player of the Year. 

The NC State signee, had a very strong senior season winning the FSU Pre-State Invitational, finishing top five at Great American, defending her state title, and earning All-American honors at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in San Diego. 


Starting off her freshman year coming from a soccer background, Hendrix quickly appeared onto the elite running scene in Florida. Her third place finish at the state meet her freshman year left her hungry for more. Over the course of four years she has taken her 5k time on the Apalachee Regional Park course down from 18:33.70 to a 17:19 to win this year's 4A state title against a stacked field.

She will join Tsion Yared, Ana Wallace, Bailey Hertenstein, and fellow NC State athlete, Rafaella Gibbons. as the recent Florida Gatorade Players of the Year.
