Salute to Seniors: Estere Deizan


Before the class of 2020 makes their final farewells to high school cross country and track and field, we want to give everyone a chance to salute them one more time! FLRunners invites all seniors to tell their stories from the past four years.

Today we salute Boyton Beach senior, Estere Deizan

    What was your most memorable race/throw/jump/vault/moment?

    My most memorable race was at the Birmingham indoor classics when i was so eager to get out my blocks and ended up falling during my 60m dash.

    Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

    My biggest competition always changed depending on who was in my heat.

    What was your greatest accomplishment?

    My greatest accomplishment would definitely be qualifying for regionals as a freshman it was an exciting experience for me running in a relay with seniors.

    Who would you consider your biggest role model over your four years competing?

    My biggest role model was my big cousin Neisha the fact that she ran at the college level and gave me so much advice i always came to her.

    If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running or field career in high school?

    I would definitely change my bad habits on missing practice and perfect my craft.

    What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome? How did you overcome them?

    My most difficult obstacle I had to overcome was bringing my self down before a race. I over came that obstacle by mentally and physically preparing myself for a race.

    What will you miss the most?

    I will definitely miss my coaches.

    What advice would you give to younger athletes?

    Be the best that you can be.

    What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

    Only you can run for you only you can want for yourself nobody can force you to better yourself except for you.

    What are your post-high school or college plans?

    My college plans is to major in education and run college track.

    Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?

    I would like to say thank you to coach walker for never giving up on me and always being supportive.

    Is there anything else you'd like to add?

    These past for years of track have been amazing i've learned so much that i'll never forget and i'll forever be grateful.
