Fort Mill's Blackmon wins fourth invitational, Westminster Catawba's Selle wins at Furman

Fort Mill sophomore Mark Blackmon won his fourth invitational title today at the Furman Invitational in Greenville. The Yellow Jacket covered the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, three seconds, the fastest time of the day.

Westminster Catawba senior Caitlin Selle won the varsity girls black division race in 20 minutes, 29.5 seconds. Selle was stung by a bee on her foot during the race, finishing the race with the bee remaining inside her spike.

Heathwood Hall girls won the black division team title over University School (Tenn.).

Olympic gold medalist Joanna Hayes spoke Friday night before the Furman Invitational and was onsite Saturday during the meet.
