Bolles Ends Season on High Note After Breaking State Records

Last week the state of Florida watched the Bolles girls and their Coach Tony Ryan make history at the 2020 FHSAA Cross Country State Championship.

The Bulldogs brought home their 12th state title in a dominating fashion -- breaking the lowest team score record and setting a new one of 18 points.

This 12th state title brings Coach Ryan up to 11 girls team state titles and 14 combined team titles -- one of the top three most decorated coaches in Florida History!

The Bolles dynasty wasn't finished after their epic state meet run last week.

Running Lane National Cross Country Championship Girls Gold Race

On Saturday, the girls raced up in Huntsville, AL at the John Hunt Running Park course -- a cross country course designed for fast times and great competition -- for the Running Lane National Cross Country Championships. And they did not disappoint.

After running a 19:06 team average the week before on the Apalachee Regional Park course, the "Duval" ladies ladies took forth overall against some of the best teams in the nation with one of their best team average times of all season -- 18:44.

The Duval ladies were led by junior Maddie Popp who crossed the line 37th with a new personal record time of 18:15. Ella Mickler joined Popp in running a new PR with her time of 18:22 to finish second for the team. Maxine Montoya followed suit with her 18:43 finish with Hadley Ropp and senior Layne Rivera capping off the top five with their strong 19:15 and 19:23 runs. Not to be forgotten, Meia Popp and Elizabeth Csikai finished out the this talented top seven running 19:59 and 20:40 respectively.

After a very strong, team focused season the Bolles girls have continued yet another year of dominance. They tie HB Plant for the most team state titles any girls cross country program in the state of Florida.
