FACA All-Star West Girls
The FACA All-Star meet was filled with some true Florida senior all-stars.
On the girls side, the race at Holloway Park featured a kick to the finish to win by Jacquelyn Abanses who represented the West girls with her winning time of 18:30 over 2A state champion Eleanor Tymorek's close 18:31. Keleigh Scallon representing the West team and Evie McIver representing the East team were the final two finishers to go sub 19-minutes.
The West girls team consisting of: Abanses, Scallon, Jessica Edwards, Aleecia Collins, Marissa Kempf, Kasumi Wade, Delaney Hillman, and Madison Hood took the overall team win with a fast 19:16 team average and 32 points over the North squad.
The boys race featured a win from the East team's Aiden Arnold who ran a 16:19 to separate himself from the rest of the field. Ashton Deriso led the North boys with his second place 16:31 finish and while the West boys solidified places three - five with Jonathan Eide, Dalin Mitchell, and Robert Stiff, the North boys edged them out for the overall victory.
The North team led by Deriso, Francisco Ramirez, Ryan Sloan, Kiran Jaishankar, Joshua Cills, Chris Flores, and Jacob Talmadge captured the win with 34 points and a 35 second 1-5 split over the West team's 37 points and 47 second 1-5 split.
