Ashton Schwartzman (IMG Academy) - Boys 400m, 200m
Ashton Schwartzman of IMG Academy won the 400-meter dash last week at Golden South Series #2 with his second fastest 400 ever and fastest in a high school-only field at 47.43. He looks to lower the time this weekend in another attempt to get closer to 47 seconds flat or faster.
The UNC commit and adidas Indoor Nationals Champion is also entered in the 200, which his 21.56 PR could add to a quality field led by sub 21 second performer Zak Sedaros. The native of Wisconsin, Schwartzman has run into the 47 second range in four meets already in 2021. Could Friday be his first meet in the 46 second range?
Also in the race with him will be teammates Carl Hicks (48.78 PR) and Cole Piotrowski. It will be interesting to see what kind of 400 meter speed Piotrowski has coming down as a 1:52 800/4:12 mile distance runner.
