FL Middle School Distance Runners Shine at Jimmy Carnes

Florida's Middle School distance runners were impressive at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational. As the Florida indoor season wound into full gear, several middle schoolers demonstrated they were ready to run. Taking center stage were 6th grader Brianna Motycka, 8th grader Avery Rand, and 7th grade twins, Emiliano and Navid Lozano.


Brianna Motycka, running for No Excuses RC, won the 13 Years Old 3,000m in 10:38.48 and doubled back winning the 13 Years Old 800m with an 2:24.87.  Motycka's times were both indoor U.S. No. 1's for 6th graders.  Her 2:24.87 800m is a Florida 6th grade all-time indoor 800m.

8th grader Avery Rand, running for the Palm Beach Elite Track Club, won the 14 Years Old 3,000m in 9:50.44.  a U.S. No. 1 indoor 3,000m for 14 year old's.

7th grade twins, Emiliano (20) and Navid Lozano, running for the Red Sea Running Club, went 1-2 in both the 3,000m and the 800m in the 13 Year Old races.  In the 3,000m, Emiliano ran a U.S. No.1 indoors for 7th graders, 10:01.96. Navid, a U.S. No. 2 10:02.17. They came back with U.S. No. 4 and 5 7th grade indoor 800's with Emiliano running a 2:15.24 and Navid a 2:15.40.
