1600 Meter Run

Junior Eliana Black of the Cambridge (Christian) School had an outstanding double at the Calvary Christian Warrior Invitational, winning the 1600 and the 3200.  In the 1600, Black was one of two girls who went sub-5:00 for the week at 4:57.89.  Black had an off year last season, but has rebounded in her junior year nicely, demonstrating that she is one of the states most talented distance runners.  She has a 1600m PR of 4:48.89 that she ran in the 1A District 9 race in 2023.  Another junior, Viera's Addison Elwell, won at the Holy Trinity Invitational in a PR 4:58.25.  Her previous best was a 5:00.38 in her 5th place at the 4A state finals last year.

The state leader in the 1600 is IMG junior Danielle Graham with a 4:55.75.
