Walton and Anderson lead Longwood at Disney

ORLANDO, FL -- Longwood University senior Jessica Walton and freshmen Mark Anderson helped lead the Lancers to strong team showings at the Disney Classic with huge PR days for each runner. Walton (Jamestown HS graduate) ran a personal best for 5000 meters with a time of 19:08 to finish 34th overall in the race, while Anderson (Western Branch HS graduate) ran a new best time for 8000 times with a 27:08 clocking for a 58th place finish. The Longwood women finished 12th overall in the team stanings out of 32 teams, while the men finished 20th out of 31 teams.

The Longwood women looked especially strong with several runners posting their fastest times ever including seniors Lynette Robinson (67th, 19:43) and Tiffany Denby (84th, 20:00). Freshmen Kristin Novara (129th, 20:47) and Ashley Schoenwetter (214th, 22:27)
