Senior Joshua Hicks of Chiles ran a Florida No. 3 14:4 last weekend, finishing 2nd at the Alexander/Asics Invitational.
Sorry for the delay in getting the previous week's meets results combined. Florida runners continued to impress in-state and out in week 7. The fastest times were run out of state last week, with two meets producing most of the top times; the Great American XC Festival in Cary, NC and the Alexander/Asics Invitational in Fairburn, GA. Junior Marcelo Mantecon of Belen Jesuit defended his title at the Great American XC Festival with a 14:39 and his teammate, often overlooked, junior Armando Cruz ran a 14:58.00 PR to finish 4th. Senior Joshua Hicks of Chiles finished 2nd at the Alexander/Asics Invitational with a PR of 14:49. In addition to Cruz and Hicks, four additional boys from last weekend ran PR's.
