3A GIRLS
Team Favorite: Chiles
The Chiles girls made a statement in the 3A-1 Regional and are the favourites to win the State Title. Fr. Emma-Claire Tanenbaum of Chiles leads Peyton Cerasi of Matanzas, Samantha Gore of Ponte Vedra (light Blue) and Sr. Isabel Harter of
Choctawhatchee (tucked behind Tanenbaum) in the 3A-1 Region. Tanenbaum went on to win with Harter 2nd, Cerasi 3rd and Gore 4th.

The Chiles girls surged ahead as the 3A girls team favourite after a dominating performance in the 3A-1 Regional. It's going to be close, however, as this is perhaps the most competitive of all of the team races this year. Chiles returns four of its seven and three of its five scorers at Regionals from last year's 4th-place team. So. Kaia Ables (24th)m Sr. Maddie Morris (32nd) and So. Chloe Molen (76) are the three returning scorers. Last year's No. 1 scorer on the team at State, Jr. Savannah Stanley (10) was seventh for the girls at Regionals. Fr. Emma-Claire Tanenbaum led the way for the squad in the Regional as she took first place, and Fr. Charlotte Sikes was the girls' No. 4 scorer. So. Madeline Brockmeier was the girls No. 6 runner at Regionals.

The Ponte Vedra girls are the defending 3A State Champions, and I would not count them out to defend their team title. However, they were second to Chiles' in the 3A-1 regional. They are the No. 2-ranked 3A team in the state and return five girls from last year, including three of their five scorers. The team lost an Experienced Daisy Ross to graduation, and their No. 2 runner last year, Sr. Samantha Gore stepped into the leadership role for the team. She was 13th at State last year. Another returning scorer is Jr. Olivia Kaminsky, who was third for the team last year (19th). Jr. Savannah LaVasser was 5th for the girls last year (23rd). She was third for the squad at Regionals. The No. 4 girl at Regionals is also a returner. So. Barbara Ross (77th) is joined by the team's No. 5 scorer at Regionals, Sr Madalyn Martin. Seniors Charlotte Osol and Mia Wicks were the No. 6 and 7 runners at Regionals.

It's almost like a coin toss; however, Our Lady of Lourdes, Ocala Vanguard, Bishop Moore and Dillard should all be in the mix to take one of the top spots, including the State title. It may be the Lourdes girls who have the advantage. Led by Fr/ Marisa Mantecon and Jr. Alessandra Perez, the girls won the 3A-4 Region over a Dillard team that we haven't seen much of this season, but that is rounding into shape in time for the State meet. Lourdes returns four from last year's 7th-place finish. Dillard was the runner-up last year and has an experienced squad featuring Fr. Shynah Collins (6th), Jr. Peyton Williams (12th), Jr. Kelly Greene (35th), and Sr. Abigail Richards (33rd). Richards was 2nd at Regionals.
Ocala Vanguard returns four of its scorers from its third-place finish in 2024. Led by seniors Emma (25th) and Ava Curtis (29th), this is another experienced squad that will be challenging for a podium spot. Jr. Cierra Mills has stepped up into the No. 3 spot from her 88th-place finish last year, and Sr. Savannah Risner, 39th last year, was the No. 4 runner at Regionals.
The final team in the 3A mix is Bishop Moore. Moore is almost guaranteed a one with arguably the best girl in the State, Annabella Tomasic. Tomasic joined the team in the offseason and has given them a boost, leading them to a No. 4 state ranking. They were second, however, to Vanguard Ocala in the 3A-2 Regional, but only nine points back. They were 5th at State last year, and along with Tomasic, juniors Lauren (28th) and Carolyn Susnis (100th), and so. Ella Valentina Valenzuela (80th) return as four of their five scorers. The fifth is Jr. Ava Hryciw.
Individual Favorite: Annabella Tomasic (Bishop Moore)

Fr. Annabella Tomasic, as a 7th-grader, was undefeated and the 2A State Champion. She was injured and not at 100% during her 8th-grade season, but has bounced back strong this year. She is undefeated this season and is the No. 1-ranked 3A girl with a 17:23.70 PR that she ran in the 3A-2 Regional. She will have some challengers, but she likes to go out strong and force the pace, challenging the other runner to go with her. She should win her second State title.
