Florida Athletes Shine at the 118th Millrose Games

Florida athletes were well represented on one of the sport's biggest indoor stages, as several delivered standout performances at the 118th Millrose Games in New York City, competing against elite national talent

IMG showcased its middle-distance depth with strong performances in the 4x800m relays, finishing second in both the boys' and girls' 4x800m relays.

In the boys' race, IMG pushed Union Catholic (NJ) to the wire, finishing just half a second back with a 7:38.47The squad, composed of Hayden Bearden (1:54.980)Matthew Dodds (1:55.44)Lucas Brighty (1:54.68), and Juan Moncayo 1:53.37), established a new Florida boys' all-time indoor 4x800m relay time, surpassing the 7:46.47 run by Spanish River at the New Balance Nationals Indoors in 2025.

On the girls' side, the IMG girls delivered a gutsy defense of their national scholastic record (8:46.04) against a Union Catholic squad that took down the record with an 8:40.07. The IMG girls still hold down the No. 2 spot in the all-time scholastic rankings. The team of Mackenzie Winning (2:11.14)Mia Dunavant (2:13.36)Danielle Graham (2:13.57), and Aurora Bertelsen Del Solar (2:11.12) ran 8:49.18.

Florida Hurdlers and Sprinters Make Finals

Florida athletes also featured prominently in the 60mH and the 60m.


Nia Armstrong (Lane 6)

In the girls' 60-meter hurdles, sophomore Nia Armstrong (Tampa, FL) placed fourth overall in a loaded field, crossing the line in 8.47.

The boys' 60m included a strong showing from Rhoan Kaulder ( IMG ), who finished sixth with a time of 6.87, competing against some of the fastest high school sprinters in the country.

Strong Performances in the 300m and Field Events

Florida athletes had strong performances in the 300m and the field events as well.

Taylor-Nicole Overton (Vero Beach) placed seventh in the girls' 300 meters, clocking 37.93 in a fast, nationally competitive race.

In the boys' pole vault, IMG's Jaxon Jerabek cleared 5.25 meters (17-2¾) to finish second, matching the winning height, but taking second n misses.

The boys' weight throw saw a trio of IMG athletes place inside the top seven:

2nd - Henry Sherman: 76-6.50

3rd - Zane Biever: 75-8.50

7th - Sebastian Albizu: 72-0.75
