Keegan was a member of the 1965 cross country team during the first season of athletics at USF. An Orlando native who arrived at USF from Bishop Moore High School, Keegan was one of several members of the cross country team who were all freshmen competing against more graduated runners throughout that inaugural season.

At an athletic award winner banquet held at the Argos dining hall on March 1, 1966 at 5:30 p.m., Keegan was the first member of the cross country team to physically receive his letterman's sweater, ahead of the men's soccer team which also began competing during the 1965 campaign.

The photo above shows the 1965 cross country team at that first athletic awards banquet, including Keegan (center).

Keegan donated that sweater, his running uniform including shorts, tank top and running shoes, as well as several photographs and news articles to the USF Varsity Club.
