Tampa Catholic senior J'Nia Simpson continues to etch her name into the record books.
On Friday at the Calvary Christian Warrior Invitational, Simpson, a Texas commit, exploded a 15.39m (50-5.91) in the shot put, solidifying her position as the current U.S. No. 1 and moving to No. 3 all-time in Florida history.
Her dominance in the shot put is nothing short of remarkable. Simpson has not lost a shot put competition since 2018, compiling an extraordinary 90-meet winning streak. That run includes:
-
Six AAU National Club Championships
-
Four AAU Junior Olympic Championships
-
One AAU Indoor National Championship
-
Three Florida High School Indoor Championships
-
One FLYRA Middle School State Championship
-
Three FHSAA 2A Outdoor State Championships
Her success extends well beyond the shot put circle.
In the discus, Simpson has competed 79 times and suffered just seven losses. She is a five-time AAU National Club Champion, a two-time AAU Junior Olympic Champion, a three-time FHSAA 2A State Champion, and a two-time New Balance Nationals Outdoor (NBNO) runner-up.
With sustained excellence across both events and nearly unmatched consistency over the past several years, Simpson has firmly established herself as one of Florida's all-time great throwers - and one of the nation's premier talents in 2026.
