Track and Field Releases 2010-11 Schedule

TAMPA - Head coach Warren Bye and the University of South Florida track and field program have released their 2010-11 schedule, which includes three home meets during the outdoor slate and a host of top-notch invitationals throughout the season. USF will welcome teams from all over the state and country at the USF Open on Friday, March 11 at the USF Track & Field Stadium. The Bulls also will host home meets on Friday, March 18 (Bulls Invitational) and Friday, April 1 (South Florida Invitational).

USF will open the track and field season when it heads to Carbondale, Ill. for the SIU Open on Friday, Dec. 3. The indoor season also features trips to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the Grand Valley State meet (Jan. 14), Minneapolis, Minn. for the Minnesota Invitational (Jan. 21-22), Lawrence, Kan. for the Jayhawk Invitational (Jan. 28), and State College, Pa. for the Penn State Invitational (Feb. 5).

The indoor postseason begins with a trip to Akron, Ohio for the BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Feb. 19-20 and concludes in College Station, Texas with the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 11-12).

The Bulls will open the outdoor season at the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. on Friday and Saturday, March 4-5. After the consecutive home meets on March 11 and March 18, USF will travel to Atlanta, Ga. for the Yellow Jacket Invitational (March 25-26) before returning to Tampa to wrap up the home schedule on April 1.

After the South Florida Invitational, the Bulls head west to the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas from April 6-9. They'll travel to Baton Rouge, La. on April 22-23 for the LSU Alumni Gold in preparation for the BIG EAST Championships in Philadelphia, Pa. from May 6-8. After the UNF Last Chance meet on May 14-15, USF will travel to Bloomington, Ind. for the NCAA East Preliminary Round on May 26-28.

The Bulls will wrap up the outdoor season with the NCAA Championships and U.S. Championships. The collegiate national meet will be held in Des Moines, Iowa from June 8-11 and the senior national meet will take place in Eugene, Ore. on June 22-25.

Currently, the cross country team is en route to State College, Pa. for the Penn State Invitational on Saturday. Then, they'll head to the Florida Southern Invitational (Oct. 22) in preparation for the BIG EAST Championships in Jamesville, N.Y on Oct. 30. They'll finish off the season with the NCAA Regional in Hoover, Ala. on Nov. 13 and the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 22.
