Taylor Burke Heads South, Commits to the University of Florida

Taylor Burke has verbally committed to the University of Florida to continue her education and track and field career.  Burke went undefeated during her 2010 campaign, capturing top honors in over ten consecutive meets.  She is the two time defending OHSAA Ohio State Champion for division 1, clearing a personal best 5-11 to capture the gold medal in 2010.  Burk has also won the past two OATCCC Indoor State Championships and is the defending Nike Indoor National champion, leaping 5-10.75 to secure the victory in Boston . 

 

Burke had the leading jump in the state last year (5-11), and tied for the fourth best in the nation.  She returns the best jump in the state by a three inch margin and returns the second best leap in the nation. 

 

Taylor Burke is not only a great high jumper, but also a talented soccer player.  Burke was the starting goal keeper on the 2009 Medina team which won the Division 1 Ohio State Championship.  Burke was also recently named as the Girls Division 1 Player of the Year in soccer, as well as Miss Soccer for the state of Ohio.
