Foundation Academy senior Lee Peters, the defending 1A state champion in the 100m, continues to lead the classification with a wind-aided 11.35 this season. She advanced smoothly from District 8 with wins in the 100m (11.93) and 200m (24.31), while also contributing to a runner-up 4x100 relay.
Bishop Snyder's Kalia Bing looms as Peters' top challenger heading into state. Bing swept the District 4 titles in the 100m (12.02), 200m (25.56), and long jump (5.49m), while also helping her 4x100 relay advance.
In the 200m, Benjamin School's Akari Marshall holds the top 1A ranking and backed it up with a sprint double at District 13, running 12.28 and 24.44, along with a leg on the winning 4x100 relay. A state meet clash between Marshall and Peters is shaping up as one of the premier matchups next week.
Tampa Prep sophomore Cai Culpepper, the defending state champion in both the 200m and 400m, remains on track for another sweep. She won both events at District 9 in 24.94 and 55.26 and continues to lead the 400m rankings.
In the middle distances, Benjamin School's Sofia Balistreri, last year's 800m champion, secured District 13 wins in both the 800m (2:20.86) and 1600m. However, the top of the 1A rankings is tightly packed, led by Northside Christian senior Eliana Black (2:13.44), followed closely by Oak Hall's Estella Collante (2:13.54) and Balistreri (2:13.57).
Black, the reigning 1A cross country state champion, dominated District 11 with a triple victory in the 800m (2:14.21), 1600m (5:22.83), and 3200m (11:17.82), and holds 1A TFRRS state-leading marks in all three events. Collante added a distance double of her own at District 5, winning the 800m (2:33.50) and 1600m (5:54.70) while contributing to Oak Hall's winning 4x400 and 4x800 relays.
Seven Rivers Christian freshman Mary Summers, the defending 1600m and 3200m champion, advanced from District 7 with wins in 5:14.60 and 11:14.53. She also ran on the 4x800 relay and is set for a key regional matchup with Collante.
St. Stephen's Episcopal senior Keymani Dillingham, the defending hurdles champion, began her title defense with a 100mH win (14.56) and a runner-up finish in the 400mH (1:02.92) at District 11. She also placed third in the 100m. Notably, the 1A shot put leader (12.11m) did not compete in the event at districts.
Indian Rocks Christian sophomore Ella Helm emerged as a major force, sweeping the hurdle events at District 11 with times of 14.59 and 1:01.34. The 400mH state leader (1:00.25) also won the long jump with a 5.86m mark.
Relay depth continues to build in 1A, with Admiral Farragut joining Tampa Prep (48.02) and the Benjamin School (48.15) under sub-49 after running 48.03 to win District 11.
Providence moved to No. 1 in the 4x800 rankings with a 9:38.45 win at District 4. Indian Rocks Christian (9:48.32), Holy Trinity (9:56.01), and Rocky Bayou Christian (9:57.90) also sit under 10:00 heading into regionals.
In the field events, St. Petersburg Catholic junior Louison Guilhem, the defending high jump champion, leads 1A with a 1.68m clearance. She won the District 1 title and also captured the triple jump (11.43m), while placing second in the long jump.
Community School of Naples junior Aniston Newman, last year's long jump champion, returned to win District 12 with a 5.38m mark and remains among the top contenders. Meanwhile, Kalia Bing (5.87m) and Ella Helm (5.86m) lead the 1A long jump rankings and are the only athletes over 19 feet this season.
In the throws, Marathon's Justice Lee and Dillingham top the shot put rankings. Lee secured the District 16 title (11.67m) and added wins in the discus (34.32m) and javelin (33.08m).
Northside Christian junior Kayla Gross, the defending javelin champion, continues to lead 1A with a 39.37m throw this season. She won District 12 (35.22m) and also took the shot put (10.61m) while placing second in the discus.
