2026 Florida Performer of the Week: Previous winners
J'Nia Simpson of Tampa Catholic (Feb. 9-14). The senior was the top-ranked girl in the State in the Shot Put and the Discus. She won the 2A shot put in the State meet for the 4th time (14.81m) and the discus for the 3rd time (47.87m). Set the Florida girls' all-time shot put record with a throw of 15.71m (51-6.5).
Selena Gregory of Nease (Feb. 16-21) The senior was the #3-ranked girls pole vaulter in the state with a 3.8m (12-2.2) vault. 2nd in the 4A Pole Vault in the State finals with a vault of 3.6m (11-9.5).
Vanessa Waite of Lake Minneola HS (Feb. 23-28). The sophomore was the top-ranked girl in the State. In the 4A State meet, she was 2nd in the 100m (11.57 and 1st in the 200m (23.10).
Lee Peters of the Foundation Academy (Mar 16-22). The senior was the top-ranked 100m girl in the state with an 11.35 (+2.4). In the 1A State meet, she was 1st in the 100m (11.76) and 2nd in the 200m (24.13).
Alexandrea Fraser of IMG Academy (Mar 23-29). The 8th grader won the FSU Relays 800m (2:13.53) and took 1st in the 400m (56.06) and the 800 (2:13.28) at the FLYRA Middle School State Championships.
Nia Armstrong of Sickles (Mar 30- Apr 5) The sophomore leads the nation in the 100mH with a time of 13.33. She won the 100 m H (13.41) and the 400mH (58.88) in the 4A State meet. she is ranked #1 in the State in both the 100mH and the 400mH.
Julia Saelg of Montverde Academy (Apr 13-19). The junior was 5th in the 2A State meet with a 3.45m (11-3.75) vault and was ranked 6th overall in the state with a 3.75m (1203.5 vault.
Hayden Higgins of East Lake HS (April 27- May 3). The junior was the #4-ranked girl in the state in the long jump with a jump of 6.1m (20-0.00). In the 4A State championships, she was 5th in both the 100mH (13.93) and the 400mH (1:01.75).
Olivia Higgins of Coral Springs HS (May 4-10). The junior lost only once in the 800m and took the 4A state championship in the 800m with a 2:09.09, ranking her 4th in the State.
