Bulldog Bound

Brandon Holloway  wanted to relax his senior season at Alonso High School. That is why he ended his recruitment recently and committed to Mississippi State University. The two sport athlete says he is now focused on the books and staying healthy on the track and the football field. The ability to continue both loves is what drew him to the Bulldogs.

"Towards the end it came down to Vandy and MSU. I built a great bond with the MSU coaches. I loved their campus, and the program seems to be going in the right direction. It was a big plus that they had a great track so that's what set them apart. Knowing that I can do track and football at a big SEC school and have great competition every week in both sports made it an easier choice to make."

Holloway  placed seventh in the 100 at the 4A state meet. His time of 10.87 in the finals was more than three seconds off his personal best of 10.54.  He has several goals for his senior year in both track and football.

"I want to help out all the young players we have on our football team and help give them any knowledge that I wish I had known back then. I also want to improve my skills I might need in college and also have a great track season and contend for a gold medal in the 100 or 200."
