Florida has been a powerhouse in AAU track and field, consistently producing AAU Junior Olympic champions across age divisions and events. There is an incredible amount of young talent in Florida! Who will take the podium this year in Des Moines?

Here are a few noteworthy Florida athletes who qualified out of the Orlando, Pensacola, and Miramar regions.

Arianna Woolcock, FSG - 17/18 Girls

Woolcock swept the sprint races, winning both the 100m and 200m dashes at the Region 10 Qualifier. The 2023 AAU Junior Olympic 200m champion will be making her fifth consecutive appearance at the national meet, bringing years of championship experience back to Des Moines.

Lesley Charles Jr., FL - 14 Boys

Charles captured a win in the discus, while also qualifying in both the shot put and javelin with a pair of third-place finishes. The young throwing standout claimed his third Miramar Regional discus championship and, if he competes in Des Moines, will make just his second career appearance at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.

Jeanajay Hyacinthe, FL - 15/16 Boys

Hyacinthe dominated the competition in the sprint events with victories in the 100m and 200m dashes, setting a new personal best of 10.57 in the shorter race. The first-time Florida state qualifier finished seventh in the 100m and ninth in the 200m at last year's AAU Junior Olympic Games.

Camila Boucher, Boca Warriors TC - 14 Girls

Boucher earned victories in both the 800m and 1,500m to qualify for her first AAU Junior Olympic Games. The middle-distance standout owns personal bests of 2:21 and 4:48, most recently placing third in the 1,500m at the AAU Club Championships.

Travaria Bain, FSG - 14 Girls

Bain produced one of the most impressive performances of the Region 10 Qualifier, winning the 100m, 200m, long jump, and triple jump. The four-event winner is set for her fourth trip to the AAU Junior Olympic Games, which is highlighted by an 11th-place finish in the long jump in 2023.

Luke Lomoriello, Golden Elite - 13 Boys

Lomoriello continued his dominant summer by winning both the 1,500m and 3,000m at the AAU Region 9 Qualifier. The distance standout remains undefeated in the 800m this season as well, posting a personal best of 2:20 and winning the regional race by an impressive 22 seconds.

Aiyana Jones, FL - 13 Girls

Jones swept the hurdle events, winning both the 100m hurdles and 200m hurdles while setting personal bests of 17.01 and 31.35. She enters the AAU Junior Olympic Games undefeated across both hurdle events this summer.

Dominic Rodriguez, FL - 13 Boys

Rodriguez repeated as the Region 9 champion in both the shot put and discus, successfully defending the two throwing titles he claimed a year ago. The rising standout has established himself as one of the nation's premier young throwers after adding more than 34 feet to his discus personal best, which now sits at 164-0.5.

Zamari Purifoy, Golden Elite - 17/18 Boys

Purifoy produced one of the top performances of the Region 9 Qualifier, winning the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes. The sophomore clocked a 21.89 in the 200m, marking his third performance under 22 seconds this year.

Isaac Rosius, Charger Elite TC - 14 Boys

Rosius claimed the high jump title while also qualifying for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in both hurdle events, finishing second in the 100m hurdles and third in the 200m hurdles.

Tahjai Clement, Florida Elite TC - 15-16 Girls

Clement won both the 100m dash and long jump, defeating several of the top athletes in her age division at the AAU Region 9 Qualifier. The freshman has enjoyed a breakout outdoor season, highlighted by personal bests of 11.93 in the 100m, which came at last week's regional meet, and 18-7.5 in the long jump, which helped her qualify to her first FHSAA regional meet.

Meeko Oliver, Speed Starz TC - 11 Boys

Oliver completed another distance sweep, winning the 800m, 1,500m, and 3,000m just three weeks after capturing all three titles at the Lakeland District Qualifier. He also set a personal best of 2:31 in the 800m, continuing an undefeated summer across the distance events.

Jada Hall, FL - 12 Girls

Hall swept the throwing events, winning the discus, shot put, and javelin to qualify for her third AAU Junior Olympic Games. The defending national champion in the discus has remained undefeated in the event this season, a streak that includes a victory at the AAU Club Championships in Jacksonville.

2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games Schedule
