Central Florida Trio Up For Inaugural Sporty Awards

Three area runners are nominated for the Inaugural PNC Bank Sporty Awards presented by the Central Florida Sports Commission.

Boone senior Marvin Bracy and Lake Brantley junior Maite Moscoso are two of the nominees for the Amateur Athlete of the Year. Bracy,  won the USATF National Championship in the 100 meters with a wind aided 10.05, the second fastest all-condition time ever by a high school athlete.

Moscoso, won both the USATF and AAU National Championship in the 10,000 meter race walk.

Former First Academy standout Ansley Gebben who is now at Liberty University on a volleyball scholarship is one of three nominees for High School Athlete of the Year. Gebben won four state championships in the 300 hurdles and three state championships in volleyball for the Royals.
 
Other awards given out include Coach of the Year, College Athlete of the Year, and Professional Athlete of the Year. The ceremony and Hall of Fame inductions will take place September 24th at Full Sail University.
