In His Own Words: Cory Sayyeau

Hey flrunners. First off, congrats on hosting another amazing meet this year. This week what can I say our team is very odd when it comes to trying to run everyone well at the same time. Our number four runner got sick during the week so he was off on Saturday. Luckily Costa, Dylan, and I ran well enough to make things work out. Costa had his best race running 16:08 i believe and Dylan after taking two weeks off was able to run 16:46 ish. When it comes to me I dont know what to say. I have no excuse for why I ran like i did. I went out at a good pace but the second mile lost everything which was very odd, but running is a mental sport and I know i can run better and I wont give up till the very end of the season. Aside from me not running so great , I'm so proud of my team. Costa, Dylan, Telly our number five who broke back into the 17's, Brandon for being sick but sticking it out, Sam our 8th grader for running low 18's this week which was a big PR, and last Alex because even though he is a soccer player he's trying hard and that's all we ask for. I'm proud of him.

Next week we will be at the FSU Invite in the Elite Boys race. We are still trying to close the gaps and get everyone together. It will also be a chance for me to reunite with my Holy Trinity family and have fun racing them again for the next couple weeks. Aside from running because running isnt the only thing going on in my life, school is going great. A lot of things are starting to happen. Our homecoming is getting closer and if any girls on flrunners want to be my date just let me know! I am still looking at some colleges to attend and just focusing on having a great senior year. See you guys at FSU.

SHOUT OUT TO MAGGIE DRAZBA!!!!! I met this girl at Nike Camp three years ago. She was a nice girl. I got to dance with her at the dance on the final day and we became friends and still talk to this day from time to time. She has been killing it for the past year and just ran 17:27/ Go figure. She is so amazing and she will make it to Footlocker Nationals for sure! Love ya Maggie!
