Sprint Star Kali Davis-White Commits To FSU

Boyd Anderson senior Kali-Davis White is one of the nation's top sprinters in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. White was also a member of the Lady Cobras state winning 4x100 meter relay. Recently, the star narrowed her college choices down to four and in the end pledged her services to the Florida State Seminoles.

What has the recruiting process been like for you?

Well it was hectic, but interesting at the same. It was hectic because I had a very hard decision to make and I didn’t want to make the wrong one nor let anyone down. It was interesting because I was able to see the lives of a college athlete day to day and also meet the people who are basically the meat and potatoes of a college athlete.

What schools did you visit?

I visited LSU, UCF, UF, and  FSU.

Why did you ultimately choose the Seminoles?

The main factor that played in to choosing FSU was the team. They were so accepting it felt like I knew every one of them for years. The coaches Coach Ken, Coach West, and Coach Braman they have such a good connection and they work together. I like how there all on one page. Florida State alshas the number one criminal justice program in the state of Florida. The advisors were great they knew there stuff, and plus I wanted to stay in Florida. Go Noles!

Now that you picked FSU are you done looking at schools and will you help recruit other girls to Tallahassee or are you going to leave that to the coaches?

That is a great question! I’m done looking at other schools because I feel like I gave them my word and I will never break a promise or commitment, As far as recruiting other girl no I won’t partake in that because I feel like that’s Coach Ken and Coach West 's job. They do a good job as far as recruiting in my opinion, so they won’t need me to help.

How important is it for you to get this out of the way so you can focus on your senior year?

It is more than important, it’s a must.I was basically gone every weekend for four weekends in a row which meant I was missing school which I shouldn't do my senior year even though I only need two more credits,.

What are you looking forward to the most about wearing the garnet and gold?

I am looking forward to working out with my new teammates.

It's your senior year at Boyd Anderson. What are goals for this year and beyond?

My goals for track this year are 11.30 in the 100 and 23.3 in the 200. As far as college whatever allows me to win and be a national champion in the 100 and 200.
