Raines senior, Marlon Brooks, travelled down south to the Sam Burley invitational this past weekend. Brooks won the Danny Brown invitational 200m final in late February in a time of 21.68. This past weekend he finished second in the 200m final at Burley in 21.74. Brooks was third place last year at the FHSAA 2A state final in the event and this year he is the top ranked 200m North Florida athlete.
Next big showing for Brooks will be on his home turf at the Bob Hayes Invitational on March 15-16.
Both North and South Florida had lots of action this past weekend. We took a look at the top 20 athletes in each event for both metros to see who leads for their area.
