Just working on the meet program and on the meet history page... Only one team in history has ever won the Race of Champions in back-to-back years and that was Jacksonville Episcopal in their nationally-ranked glory years and they won the title three years in a row... 2005-2007. Bishop Kenny girls and the Our Lady of Lourdes girls have both won it twice, but not consecutively. Winter Park boys and then Belen Jesuit boys have both won it twice also, but not consecutively. So this year with Lakewood Ranch girls and the Belen Jesuit boys both coming back strong they will each have the chance to get back to back wins. Belen obviously will be the favorite and would move into the all-time lead with four flrunners.com Race of Champions titles. Potentially Shelby Davidson and Elliott Clemente could log the second individual victories for their teams. Elly Kabboord won it in 2002 for Cocoa Beach and Eddie Arguello won it in 2003 for Belen. Flagler Palm Coast boys have the record with four individual titles: Matt Cianciulli (FLR 1), Justin Harbor (FLR 5 & 6), and Anthony Morales (FLR 7). Wellington has three individual titles (all Ashley Brasovan), Oviedo and Community School of Naples each of two also (Jenny Barringer-Simpson x2 and Kathryn Fluehr x2)

There have been two out of state teams to win the team title (Warwick Valley NY boys 2005 and Georgetown TX boys 2006). However, NO NON-FLORIDIAN has ever won the individual Race of Champions title. There will be two good challengers this year: Josh Brickell of Georgia and Meghan Lockett of Virginia. Will Florida step up to the challenge??? Keep it in state?
