Share of expenses is $150 per school for the Varsity County Meet.
Coaches,
The Manatee County Varsity Championship track and field meet will be hosted by Manatee High School on Friday, March 30, 2012. All coaches, athletes, and managers at no charge with proper I.D. Admission fees will be charged for all other students and adults. Restrooms are located on the west side of the gym and a concession stand is located on the west side of the stands. There are no outside water fountains at Manatee High School.
Schools: Bayshore, Bradenton Christian, Braden River, Lakewood Ranch, Manatee, Palmetto, Saint Stephens, Southeast
Entries: 4 per event, 1 relay per school
Time schedule:
3:30 p.m. - Coaches meeting (scratches allowed, no additions or substitutions)
4:30 p.m. - Field Events and 4x800 Relays
6:30 p.m. - Running Finals
Field Events:
Three efforts in jumps and throws. All finals. Check in at designated areas on arrival.
Order: Girls' shot and boys' discus then the reverse at the conclusion of each. High jump and pole vault girls followed by boys. Long jump both boys and girls followed by triple jump boys and girls. Boys jump on east end and girls jump on west end.
Field event assignments: Shot Put - Braden River and Bayshore. Discus - Palmetto and Lakewood Ranch. High Jump Braden River and Bayshore. Pole Vault - Lakewood Ranch. Girls' Long Jump and Triple Jump - Palmetto and Southeast. Boys' Long Jump and Triple Jump - Manatee and Saint Stephens.
Scoring: Individual events 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. Relays 10-8-6-4-2-1.
Awards: Top 3 team trophies, 1-8 individual ribbons in each event, and individual event champion back packs.
Running Events - No Prelims. All finals and are seeded. Girls then boys on each event. All athletes enter track from the east gate and exit at west end of track. Athletes must check in to the clerk at first call. Let them know! Dont let them get disqualified. Uniform rule in effect. Relay cards provided for 4x800, 4x100, 4x400 and MUST BE FILLED IN PRIOR TO CHECK IN.
Relay Zone assignments: 1-Southeast and Palmetto, 2-Braden River and Lakewood Ranch, 3-Bayshore and Saint Stephens.
No coaches on infield. No one on infield except athletes warming up.
Team Area: All teams on the retention area near check in. NO ATHLETES IN THE STANDS.
Warm up area: East side of infield area, marked by cones
Hospitality: Concession vouchers provided in packet
A trainer will be on site.
