Weather : It was hot and humid, but hey its Florida.
Course : All but start and end is on grass/sand/dirt. Most of the
course through high grass and cow pasture, which is the biggest culprit for slowing times. Also mud and tire ruts. Good course,
true cross country. This is the host of the district meet.

A young man by the name of Tony died in this race. He was a JV runner for Venice and collapsed on the final stretch of the race on the track. It is a great tragedy and shocked us all who were in attendance. The meet was left in silence. We will not forget--may God bless you and your family, Tony.
