Sunshine Athletic Conference Championships

>Coach Keppel Courage Award
We will again be awarding the annual Coach Keppel Courage Award to one male and one female cross country athlete from the conference. The winners would have demonstrated many of the qualities that Coach Keppel so greatly exemplified in the final years of his life (courage, inspiration, and dedication to their team). By Monday September 12, coaches should send their nominations to Chris Loth (cloth@pasco.k12.fl.us). Nominations should include a brief written explanation of the athlete and how they have demonstrated the traits mentioned. A ballot will be constructed and distributed and a winner for each gender determined. At the SAC awards ceremony, the winning athlete will receive a personal award and one to display at their school until the next year. If you need more direction, here is the wording that will be on the plaque:
"Given yearly to a Pasco county cross country runner who embodies Coach Keppel's drive to finish the race, keep the faith and never give up."
>Senior Morning Recognition - We will again be acknowledging graduating seniors by calling them out onto the track.
> Timing/Scoring: Provided by Big Dawg Runnin'
> Results: Will be available online, and announced at the awards ceremony and posted near concession stand.
> Box Assignments: TBD
> Entries: 7 in varsity, unlimited in JV. Entries close 10/3 @ 8:59PM.
> Jury of Appeals:
Male Races: Mitchell, Hudson, Land o' Lakes, and Wesley Chapel girls team coaches.
Female Races: Fivay, River Ridge, Sunlake, Zephyrhills boys team coaches.
> Meet Official: TBA
> Team Tents: In PE fields behind visitors stand, adjacent to the starting line area. Teams may also set up camp in the visitor stands.
> T-Shirts - Long sleeve t-shirt with SAC "team wheel logo" on the back available in various colors.

> Medical: Certified Athletic Trainers available on site
> Course: On-campus course that is approximately 70% grass and 30% asphalt. Begins just outside stadium and finishes in stadium. Coach and fan-friendly. Email Coach Loth for a course map. Or click below.
> Course Preview: Contact coaches to set up individual course preview. Course will be open day before (10/7/16)
> Food: Post race food/water for athletes
> Parking: All parking in main lot of school will be ideal to see start, middle, and end of race. Gates close at 7:30, please inform your families and friends.
