This is an email that was sent to all District host ADs to disperse to teams in their District. Please see the attached meet flyer and course map.  Don't forget to register anyone who would like to run in the community/open race on Direct Athletics.

 

 

Pine Crest is excited to behosting you for the Region 4-1A, 4-2A & 4-4A Cross Country meets on Friday,November 3rd, 2017.  The meetwill be held at TradewindsPark in Coconut Creek.  The races arestaggered to allow for ease of entry and not to overcrowd the entrance, pleaseplan your arrival accordingly.

Open/Community Race-Registrationon Direct Athletics due on 11-1-17 by 10 AM

There will be a combinedBoys & Girls Open/Community race that will start promptly at 12:00 PM.  Due to FHSAA rules, we are not permitted to scorethis as a team event.  Please only enter your athletes for the Openrace on Direct Athletics, by 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 1st.  Here is the link to register:  https://www.directathletics.com/meets/xc/13303.html

 

Admissions

Please remind your parentsand students the FHSAA requires us to charge all spectators $7 per person forthe district meet.  Only FHSAA StateSeries Passes, FHSAA Lifetime Passes and media credentials can be honored forcomplimentary admission. 

 

Entry to Tradewinds Park

Coming from the east willforce you to make a left turn against traffic. We plan to have police there working the lights, but if you could planyour arrival from the west, it will be much easier on everyone.  If you come from the Sawgrass/Turnpike(North) or Copans Rd. (South) you can take Lyons Rd. to Sample and come fromthe west.

 

No Parking inButterfly World & Small Lot by Bathroom Building

Youmay NOT park in the lot by Butterfly World. Also, no parking in the small lot by the bathroom building.  The large lot just to the north of the soccerfields is open for spectator parking only. No team buses or vehicles allowed. 

 

Bus Parking

Busescan drop off by the starting line and set up team camps south of the soccerfields.  You may also park your busthere.  When that area is full, you mustuse the lot at the front of the park closest to Sample Road.

 

OverflowParking

Ifthe bus parking lot by the main entrance and spectator parking lot fill up,there is additional parking if you continue south on the main entrance roadpast Butterfly World & the soccer fields. Buses & cars may both park in that area.

 

Team Camps

Youmay set-up team camps near the bathroom building, on the grass field south ofthe starting line, north of the finish line and on the grass areas in theparking lot.

 

SoccerFields-OFF LIMITS

Thesoccer fields are off limits.  Please letyour teams and spectators know they need to stay off the soccer playing fields.

 

Course Preview

The park will be open Thursdayfor warm-ups and course preview.  We arenot allowed to have it fully set-up until Friday morning due to other events goingon Thursday evening.  Please stay off thesoccer fields.  On Friday you may tour the courseanytime while racing is not going on. 

 

Packet Pick-Up

You can pick up your packetsat the finish line tent starting at 7:30 AM. It will include your race numbers, timing chips, team roster, pins,color course maps and the meet schedule. 

 

Timing Chip Return

Please be sure to put your timing chips back in numerical orderand in the Ziploc bags then return them to the finish line tent.  Any lost chips will cost $20 each.

 

Weather Issues-All communication will be emailed to you andposted on twitter (@pinecresttrack).

Inthe event that we have a lightning, please instruct all of your athletes toreturn to your team bus and parents to return to their vehicles.  We will run in the rain, but if there islightning we will wait it out until the lightning alert system gives us the allclear.

 

Eligibility

As a reminder, you are only allowed to compete up to 7 runners atRegionals.  They must also be listed onyour eligibility list.

 

Substituting Runners

If you are going to substitutea runner who was not in your top 7 at the District Meet, you must complete asubstitution form to switch the bib and chip to the new runners.  This must be done at the finish line tentprior to your race.  The new runner mustalso be listed on your eligibility list.

Pleaseuse the entrance south of Sample Road.

Weare just across from Butterfly World on the soccer fields.

 

Directions from I-95 or Turnpike

Getoff at Sample Road and head west.  Afteryou go over the Turnpike, turn left (south) into the park.  Follow the road south and the parking lotentrance will be on your left just past the softball fields and before thesoccer fields.  See previous note aboutentering from the west.

 

Course Information

You may tour the course anytime whileracing is not going on.  You may not beon the course in any fashion once racing begins. 

 

Bathrooms

Thereare bathrooms by the soccer and softball fields.  We also have porta-potties near the soccerfields (close to the finish line) and on the field south of the starting line foroverflow.

 

Coconut Creek Police andCourse Marshals

We will have uniformedCoconut Creek Police and course marshals to help assist with everyone'ssafety.  Please follow all directionsgiven by our helpers to ensure a successful meet.

 

Gatorade

Patrick Quinn of Gatoradewill be on site giving out free product during the meet. 

 

Awards

There will be a champion andrunner-up team trophy for each race (excluding open/community).  We will also give medals to the top 15individual athletes in each race. 

 

Qualifying for the FSHAA StateFinals

The top 15 individuals andtop 6 placing teams will advance to the FHSAA State Finals.

 

State Finals

The State Finals will beheld on Saturday, November 11th in Tallahassee at Apalachee RegionalPark.  More information can be found onthe FHSAA website.
