Former St. Petersburg Northeast and Webber International distance runner Jon Mott is now making his mark on the road racing circuit. Mott recently competed in the USA Half Marathon in Houston where he placed 41st out of 70 runners. Former Florida Gators Enoch Nadler and Jeremy Criscione also competed and had successful showings. We caught up with Mott to talk about his high school and college careers, as well as his new passion for road racing.

Neamen Wise had a very successful career at Lake Brantley High School and signed a scholarship with USF. Wise's college seasons were filled with ups and downs after going to the IAAF World Championships as a freshman, going through periods of injury before bouncing back to win Big East long jump titles in both 2012 and 2013. Former Leon High School standout Will Stanford remembers his high school career like it was yesterday. The athletic honors starting from when he placed 12th at the 3A State Cross Country meet (the highest finish for a freshman)and his team won overall in 2007. Then the cross country season of 2008 where he was the individual runner-up and Leon won another title.  In 2009, he picked up a state title outdoors by winning the 3200 meters. He came back to help Leon win a third straight cross country championship, but he was nowhere near 100 percent. Stanford had contracted the H1N1 Virus otherwise known as the "Swine Flu".

Ashley Brasovan was one of the most decorated distance runners Florida has seen. While at Wellington High School, Brasovan won four cross country state titles, three outdoor state championships in the 3200 meters. On the national scene, she was the 2008 Foot Locker National Runner-Up,  2007 Foot Locker National Champion, 2007 National Gatorade Runner of the Year and a Nike Indoor and Outdoor National Champion in the two mile and 5K. Now Brasovan, is running at Duke where she is a senior. She missed her first two seasons due to injuries.
