Nicole Carroll Clears 13'1.5 At Millrose Games Todd Grasley Feb 14, 2015

Tampa Catholic senior Nicole Carroll received an invite to the prestigious Millrose Games in New York City after vaulting 13'0 at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. Thursday, she didn't have her best day vaulting around 11'0 in the junior women's open vault. However, she was invited back for one more chance to compete at the main event on Saturday. The 2A two-time state champion responded with a new personal best of 13'1.5", a new Florida indoor record, and one of the top vaults ever in the state!

Creekside's Taylor Stampedes Her Way To University Of South Florida Zack Bias Jan 13, 2015

Through the years, Creekside senior Jessica Taylor has developed into one of the top distance runners in the state of Florida. This year she helped lead Creekside to their first ever 3A Cross Country Finals championship and leaves as the school record holder in the 5k. She will be continuing her running career at the Division 1 level as a member of the University of South Florida Bulls.

University of South Florida Cross Country Coach Dena Reif knows the importance of keeping local talent at home. The Bulls women's roster is comprised completely of Floridians hailing from various parts of the state. Recently, Reif continued that trend of landing area athletes when she received commitments from five of the states' top runners. Catherine Blaney of Belleview, Hannah Loder of Matanzas, Elizabeth Harper of Merritt Island, Natalie Novak of Lakewood Ranch, and Kaitlyn Campo of Olympia will dawn the green and gold in the fall of 2013.

Lakewood Ranch High School senior Natalie Novak is going to “run with the bulls” in Tampa starting in the fall 2013. Head Coach Dena Reif of the University of South Florida has offered Novak a scholarship to join their cross-country & track teams. During her four year running career with the Lady Mustangs, Natalie’s elite times of 18:48 in the 5K and 2:16 in the 800 meter have made her a highly sought after athlete by other Florida Universities and others schools as far away as DePaul University in Chicago.
