Both individual races in 2A- Region 3 were dominated by individual runners. On the girls side, it was Lemon Bay's Kelsi Oglivie, on the boys side it was Lake Wales' Paul Stafford. The Lely boys led by Joshua Wagner won the regional title over Dunbar while on the girl's side Academy of Holy Names and Berkeley Prep both used their depth to finish 1-2. Kelsi Ogilvie and Maddison Welch of Lemon Bay went 1-2 in the 2A Region 3 girls championship while Lake Wales junior Paul Stafford picked up his second win on the tough Holloway Park course with a time of 16:01.17
Both defending district champions from 2015 held serve at Al Lopez Park in Tampa. First up were the girls and while the Academy Jaguars didn't return Greta Dieck to the top of the podium, junior Emma Zazzero came through to win the title for the Jags. Zazzero has emerged as the Jags' top runner in 2016.
The 2A District 10 Championship was one of the smallest this week in the state of Florida, but that didn't stop us from getting coverage! Andy Warrener was on-site at Al Lopez Park and captured nearly 200 photos including this one of the start of the boy's varsity race won by Berkeley Prep's Leo Ochoa.
The Bolles girls (seen here after their district championship win) have 2A's top distance runner in Caitlin Collier and a team average time of 18:53.86. The Bulldogs are the favorite to win their fifth straight title and 11th in program history, which would surpass Plant as the most in state history. Pine Crest, who has been by Bolles side on the podium as the runner-up over the past few season look to be headed for that same feat in 2016. We take a look at the top 2A girls teams this fall.
At 10 a.m. Saturday morning, Academy of the Holy Names runner Elizabeth Dolan saw a dream recognized as the first annual Cross Out Cancer 5k race kicked off at Tampa's Picnic Island.
The athletes from Class 2A District 10 set off on the same course they ran in just nine days ago at Al Lopez Park in Tampa. Winners from 2014 held serve but just barely. The Berkeley Prep boys won it with 34 to runner up Jefferson with 35.

Bolles and Pine Crest have battled in the 2A team race the last three years with the Bulldogs coming out victorious in every meeting. Panther's new addition Alyssa Pujals hopes to be the piece of the puzzle that changes that. Check out the top girls teams in 2A.
If there was any chance the boys of Jesuit and the girls of Academy of the Holy Names could repeat their team titles from districts a week ago, things would have to go just right. They did. Even following the same trend that earned them district titles, the Jesuit boys dominated the field events and held on for the win, while the Academy girls trailed most of the way before storming ahead in the 3200m.
Academy of Holy Names distance star Claire Snyder has signed a NLI with the University of Georgia. Synder has personal bests 2:21, 5:07, 11:17, and 18:48.
Storm clouds beset the Class 2A Region 3 meet before it ever began. Hours prior to the race, a storm front moved in and drenched the course at Anclote High School in Holiday. Precipitation held on into the start and for the duration of the race, bogging down runners and times. Still some runners were able to shine through the mud and moisture. On the girls side, the Academy of the Holy Names shone brightest.
Over two dozen Hillsborough County Schools made the trip to Lake Park in Tampa for the Hillsborough County Championships. Jeff Adams was on-site snapping away with his camera as he usually does. Four races, a couple of hours, and nearly two thousand images to capture all the moments from this event!

These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet. We scored 20 deep for individuals and 20 deep for relays. For example, for individuals 1st place received 20 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 20th place.
