About Me

I am a firefighter/EMT with the city of Cleveland. I also coach Track & Field and Cross-Country at Walker Valley High School. I wanted a way for high school runners and coaches to communicate and get meet information/results. That motivated me to start the first TennesseeRunner.com site. After many crashes and frustrations I moved the site to a friends hosting service. A year or so later I was approached my the Mile-Split Network. After lots of thought I moved the site for the last time to join the Mile-Split Network. Now here we are and I think this is the best the site has been to date.

"A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more. Nobody is going to win a 5,000 meter race after running an easy 2 miles. Not with me. If I lose forcing the pace all the way, well, at least I can live with myself." -- Steve Prefontaine

"A teacher is never too smart to learn from his pupils. But while runners differ, basic principles never change. So it's a matter of fitting your current practices to fit the event and the individual. See, what's good for you might not be worth a darn for the next guy." -Bill Bowerman

***Imagine a product that increases alertness, boosts creativity, reduces stress, improves perception, stamina, motor skills, and accuracy, enhances your sex life, helps you make better decisions, keeps you looking younger, aids in weight loss, reduces the risk of heart attack, elevates your mood, and strengthens memory. Now imagine that this product is nontoxic, has no dangerous side effects, and, best of all, is absolutely free***

This miracle drug is, in fact, nothing more than the "nap": the right nap at the right time.
-Dr.Mednick

the revolution begins here...
"a nap a day, keeps the stress away..."
