Cross country , basketball and middle distance track athlete, Bayside High School (Palm Bay, Fla.) class of 2001.

Florida State University, B.A. in English-Creative Writing and Interdisciplinary Social Science, 2005.

Spent 5+ years working in sports journalism (during college and post-college), most recently for two years as a sportswriter for the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville (2005-07).
