MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The University of South Florida cross country teams came in 12th place on the women's side and 13th in the men's race at the BIG EAST Championships early Saturday afternoon at the Wayne E. Dannehl National XC Course hosted by Marquette.
The women had 359 points, while the men posted 381 points. No. 2 Villanova won the women's race with 30 points, while No. 14 Syracuse won the men's competition with a point total of 55.

For the fifth time this year, sophomore Nicole Rozario earned the top spot for the Bulls, as she ran the 6k race in a time of 22:42.8, putting her in 43rd overall. Classmate Allie Prendergast followed Rozario in 23:39.1 to place 64th.
Sophomores Yasmin Smith and Jen Wynands crossed the finish line in 82nd and 83rd, respectively, while another pair of sophomores in Devin Spoerle and Shaniel Chambers also crossed the finish line together in 87th and 88th.
Sophomore Christine Johnston, senior Kelly Savery and sophomore Kristi DeGraw-Higgins also ran for USF.
Senior Ryan Courtoy placed 52nd with a time of 27:11.7 and was the top runner for the men's team, which finished one spot above last year's placement. He was followed by sophomores Phillip Wise and Lucas Simari, who posted times of 28:04.7 and 28:51.1, respectively.
Wise came in 77th and Simari placed 83rd, while senior Robert Sudduth, freshman Felix Soto and junior Pedro Carela followed suit in the next three spots. Sophomores Jon Bing, Sean Foster and junior Brian Benjamin rounded out USF's field of competitors.
USF will continue the postseason at the NCAA Regional Nov. 14 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The NCAA Championships will be run out of Terre Haute, Ind., Nov. 23 and will be carried live on VERSUS.
